You may want to check my last entry if you haven't already because it directly relates to this one. The short version is that my mom had an ultrasound exam, which revealed an ovarian cyst, which could have been potentially malignant given her prior history of breast cancer. The possibility that her cyst may require immediate surgery to determine whether the cyst was malignant or benign threatened to bring our vacation plans to a screeching halt.

So moving along, my mom gave me a call at work in the middle of this afternoon, after her consult with an ob-gyn specialist. It turns out the diameter of the ovarian cyst that was found during the exam the night before too small to be of any major concern. It was less than 3mm in diameter and supposedly the doctor who has had significant experience in such matters doesn't even treat it as a "red flag" until it is at least 5mm. So he gave her the OK for her to travel and to not to worry about doing any more analysis even a non-invasive one until she gets back.

So that was a definite relief, so now I have only tonight and part of tomorrow to pack, I also have to cast an early vote for the presidential election since I will be out of the country on the official November election day. I should have done most of my packing and cast my early vote yesterday, but I kinda thought I had some extra time on my hands, with the possible postponement and or cancellation of my trip. I guess it goes to show you that you shouldn't really assume certain things especially if they are negative, because you never really know what might really happen.

So now my vacation has officially "reloaded". I re-added the vacation time to my calendar, I set the out-of-office notification on my e-mail and work phone and told my manager the vacation with all the originally requested dates and times are still a go. And now the frantically paced packing begins.

I'm not sure what free time I'll be having tomorrow, nor do I have any idea what kind of internet access, if any will be available to me during my trip so the possibility exists that this may be my last entry until I return in the middle of November.
